Marta Skoczeń (born in 1994 in Poland) is a visual artist working with video, photography, drawing, and text. She graduated from the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris (studios of Clément Cogitore and Patrick Tosani) and the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (Department of Graphic Arts). In her work, she explores themes related to memory, migration, attachment, ecology, as well as the social roles assigned to women and the processes of maturation.
Her work has been presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions, as well as at independent film festivals around the world (in France, Poland, Germany, Iceland, Sweden, the United States, and Peru, among others). She is the recipient of the LOOP Acquisition Award 2022 for her film House Without a Key.
The works of Marta Skoczeń are part of significant contemporary art collections, including the FRAC Alsace (France), LOOP Fair / MACBA – Museum of Contemporary Art Barcelona (Spain), the Jean-Conrad and Isabelle Lemaître Collection (France), and BERG Contemporary (Iceland). Marta Skoczeń has been working with the Dohyang Lee Gallery since 2022. She also collaborates with fashion brands as a photographer, including Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, Balagan, and She is Sunday.
